What is a subperiosteal implant?
A subperiosteal implant is an implant solution placed under the gum, onto the jawbone (not into the bone like a classic implant). It is an individually made titanium or zirconia framework that fits the shape of your jaw and supports fixed teeth.
The key difference: a classic implant = an artificial root in the bone; a subperiosteal implant = a framework on the bone, beneath the gum. That is why it is suitable even when classic implants are not possible.
